The CPU-71-14 is a two-slot wide modified version of the Dynatem CPU 71-10 (DPD) with a specially designed mezzanine card that offers Ultra320 SCSI functionality and additional front panel I/O connectivity. The two-slot configuration will serve as a form/fit/function upgrade to the VMIVME-7751 , which is no longer available, with identical P2 pinouts on both slots.

The CPU-71-14 is a 6U VMEbus Single Board Computer based on the Intel® Core™2 Duo Mobile Processor L7400 that operates at 1.5 GHz. Much of the I/O is routed up to the mezzanine card through a P0 stacking connector arrangement and a PMC site on the base board routes a 66 MHz PCI-X interface up to the mezzanine for accessing an LSI 53C1030 SCSI Controller.

The CPU-71-14 has an LPC47B27X Super I/O device that provides a PS/2 mouse/keyboard interface, an LPT1 parallel printer interface, and a floppy disk controller. COM1 & COM2 are RS232 ports accessible from the front panel through two micro-D-sub-miniature (MDSM) connectors similar to those used on the VMIVME-7751.

Delivering breakthrough energy efficient performance for embedded platforms. 65 nm process technology makes it possible to integrate two complete execution cores in one physical package, providing advancements in simultaneous computing for multi-threaded applications and multitasking environments. While incorporating advanced processor technology this processor remains software compatible with previous IA-32 processors. E7520 Memory Controller Hub
The Intel E7520 chipset acts as the central hub for all data passing between the core system elements including processor, memory, PCI Express I/O, and legacy I/O subsystems. The Intel® E7520 chipset enables a variety of high-performance, low-power designs with improved platform reliability and system manageability. This chipset utilizes PCI Express serial I/O technology and next-generation DDR2 memory technology to help increase I/O bandwidth and reduce system latency for data-intensive applications.
6300ESB I/O Controller Hub
The Intel® 6300ESB I/O Controller Hub (ICH) supports legacy and more cutting edge I/O. It is designed for use with the E7520. Intel has integrated features into the 6300ESB ICH that offer the performance, stability and reliability customers require for embedded computing applications. It improves bandwidth via a PCI 32/33 support. It also provides port 60/64 emulation, dual UARTs, four USB 2.0 ports, two SATA ports, primary and secondary IDE, and a two-stage watchdog timer. The Intel 6300ESB ICH and associated drivers help reduce support and validation costs.
DRAM
The CPU-71-14 supports 4 GBytes of DRAM and its DDR2-400 memory technology is ideal for memory-intensive applications, providing up to 20 percent increase in memory bandwidth, and up to 40 percent decrease in power consumption over DDR 266 memory. ECC error correction is supported.
Two Gb Ethernet Ports
Two are accessible from the front panel The CPU-71-14 gets its two Ethernet ports from an Intel® 82571EB Gigabit Ethernet Controllers. The 82571EB provides two fully integrated Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Control (MAC) and physical layer (PHY) ports. This device uses the PCI Express architecture (Rev. 1.0a) as a host interface. The Intel 82571EB supports Ethernet interfaces for 1000BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 10BASE-T applications. In addition to managing MAC and PHY Ethernet layer functions, the controller manages PCI Express packet traffic across its transaction, link, and physical/logical layers.
Super I/O
